We wanna give banking a better future

Today we’re closing in on lift off, the site is nearly complete. I’ve been looking at bits of code and wondering how we’ll make it work when seemingly simple things fail and I know we have some work to do. The beauty of it is that when we get the support, we get the resource and legal status to trade and strike the deals we’ll need with networks like eftpos, our bank and a credit card gateway, to handle the ABA transfers that carry the information you want to tell us. How you voted, on what issue and who you’d like to reward.

Let’s use what we have, what we “trust”, what we know to be protected by strong laws and known to be openly accountable by a statement.

We will set up another system to provide redundancy and even better security but let’s get the baseline working first, get people into worthwhile jobs helping their community to have better and more engaged lives making decisions and adding human genius to the many problems we must share under the broad shadow our existence and success casts over this planet.

Using a bank to do anything radical seems a very contrary proposition but it’s simply efficiency and ease of use that’ll make the adoption by many to be quick and easily understood. A simple transfer of 55c carrying your choice and everything that made it possible.

We do not need you to understand all the technology, we just have to measure how it stands up to expectations and how it works when you have the time to participate in your favorite subjects - community consultation, legislation, by-law or budget proposal…what ever needs to be decided.
